Sparkling Wine, The Super Bowl MVP

Updated: Feb 15

Wondering what wine to pour on game day. We think there is one clear winner that will add some sparkle to your football party, and that is sparkling wine. Our favorite, Champagne, will pair nicely with all your football food and the Dr. Dre/Snoop Dog/Eminem half time show!

It may be quicker to share what won't go with a dry sparkling, but here is a quick list of what does:

  • Fried chicken/wings

  • Burgers

  • Fries (our favorite)

  • Pork

  • Ribs (hello Bubble-que)

  • Jalapeño poppers

  • Guacamole

  • Sausage and Peppers

Not a sparkling fan? The next runner-up is pinot noir for second most game day pairings. This light and highly versatile wine, pairs nicely with most party fare. Here's a list of tasty treats that go nice with this red:

  • Pizza

  • Nachos

  • Spinach dip

  • The majority of the list we gave for sparkling (except fries, poppers and guacamole)

  • Chocolate

Between these two wines, you can pair virtually every game day dish. If you need recommendations for specific brands, styles or price points or would rather pair another style of wine with your game day meal, use the chat feature and we will promptly send you personalized recommendations.
